It's that time of year again — the time when panties and politics come together to make you cringe, laugh, and get into the voting booth.
In celebration of the sloganeering we’ve been seeing all spring, and will face this summer and fall, we’re going to jump right into the campaigning fray.
Forget "Hoo but Hoover", "I like Ike", and "All the Way with LBJ". This year we need your political slogans, the one's you've been aching to put on a bumper sticker, a t-shirt, or a multi-million dollar television ad. Whether it's ribald, serious, or down-right irreverent, we’ll take them all. And unlike a political campaign, we promise not to test them in a focus group or Zogby poll.
At Panty Palooza 2008, we'll put up all the slogans we've received, printing the best slogans on buttons, shirts, coasters and, of course, underwear! Party-goers will get to select the funniest, most outrageous, and most compelling of the bunch.
What: Submit your political slogans to Panty Palooza 2008 to see your words in lights, or at least emblazoned on a pair of panties. Deadline for slogan you'd like to email for us to print: June 2nd. Deadline for slogan artistic submissions: June 12th.
How: Send them to us in any format you'd like: cross-stitch them on a pillow, paint them in fine calligraphy, or photograph your (legal) graffiti. Or of course, slap them on a pair of underwear. You can send them to: Planned Parenthood Western Pennsylvania Action Fund, 933 Liberty Avenue, Pittsburgh, PA 15222. Or, for those wordsmiths who don't like to get away from their computers just email them to info@ppwpaf.org.
And Why: Panty Palooza 2008 is the biggest annual fundraiser for Planned Parenthood Western Pennsylvania Action Fund. The Action Fund is dedicated to educating voters about where our elected officials stand around reproductive rights — and helping to get candidates who will work for reproductive rights elected!
